Last year, Skrillex won big at The Grammy Awards, going home with 3 awards out of the 5 dance categories. At this year’s 55th Annual Grammy Awards, Skrillex swept all 3 dance categories, winning awards for Best Remixed Recording (Non-Classical), Best Dance Recording, and Best Dance/Electronica Album!
Battling against some of the same strong contenders from last year like Deadmau5 and Swedish House Mafia, as well as new contenders like Steve Aoki and Kaskade, Skrillex proved victorious after his first win for remixing Nero’s Promises in the Best Remixed Recording (Non-Classical) category, the track winning over Axwell’s remix to Ivan Gough, Feenixpawl, & Georgi Kay’s In My Mind and the Tommy Trash remix to Deadmau5′s The Veldt.
Up next was Best Dance Recording, where Skrillex won with his track Bangarang against Avicii’s Levels and Swedish House Mafia’s Don’t You Worry Child. Last but not least, winning the Best Dance/Electronica Album with Bangarang, Skrillex swept the dance awards, beating Deadmau5′s >album title goes here< and Kaskade’s Fire & Ice!
Another honorable mention goes to Diplo, nominated for Best Producer (Non-Classical), who lost to The Black Keys’ frontman Dan Auerbech.
